Finding and sourcing clean health and beauty products can be just as hard, if not harder, than finding clean food.  Here are some of our go to favorites, that are not only low glutamate (REID approved), but homeopathic friendly. The following items have been linked via Amazon and/or Thrive Market affiliate pages where I may earn a commission from. Products may need to be sourced based on availability and/or pricing.

Epsom Salts- By now you’ve likely realized our obsession with Epsom salt soaks.  Take a look at this recipe for a glutamate lowering salt soak.  Otherwise, start your introduction to Epsom salts with 1/4 cup in bath filled just above belly button. You may want to avoid if sulphur issues are suspected.

Toothpaste- because this product contains natural bentonite clay, there is a higher risk of lead.** We use homemade toothpaste when at home but travel with this.  We stick with the cinnamon flavor to avoid canceling any homeopathic remedies with mint.

Dental Floss- this great floss uses the herb, neem, to help clean between teeth.  The cinnamon flavor also makes it homeopathic friendly.

Tooth Whitening- while I do not use this for my son, it is a great natural remedy to help whiten my teeth.  However, I only use it once or twice a month as it can be very abrasive.

Body Wash- we keep this clean option on hand for body wash and will occasionally use it as shampoo.  Heads-up, this is not tear-free.

Bar Soap- We typically source local handmade soaps, similar to these. This brand is relatively clean but we are sure to check ingredients and avoid any containing mint, tea tree or eucalyptus because of homeopathy.

Our whole family uses this Coconut Body Oil.  Again, such great ingredients: *Extra virgin coconut oil, *sunflower oil, herb infused oil (*grapeseed oil, *calendula flowers, *comfrey leaves, *comfrey root, *echinacea purpurea, *gingko leaves, *goji berries, *gotu kola leaves, *hibiscus flowers, *lavender flowers, *lemon balm, *licorice root, *life everlasting flowers, *lotus stamen, *plantago leaves, *rhodiola, *rooibos, *rose petals, *rosemary leaves, *green tea leaves, *shavegrass (horsetail herb), *violet leaves, *acai fruit, *amla, *ashwagandha, *frankincense, *milk thistle seed), *aloe vera oil, *olive oil, non-GMO vitamin E tocopherols, essential oils of *lavender, elemi, peru balsam and frankincense.

We don’t typically use any styling products with our son so this continuous spray bottle has been key for us to quickly style his hair in the mornings. We love it so much, that we had to buy two!

Essential Oil Bug Repellent-  We spend a ton of time in the woods and hiking, and this is our go-to protection for these times. We apply a few drops around the ankles, writs and neck to keep unwanted bugs away.

Makeup Regime and Facial Care

After witnessing my sons reaction, I’ve tried to reduce my glutamate and chemical exposure and have started searching for cleaner products for myself.  Since starting diet changes, I’ve been very cautious as to what I use on my face and lips because I am often lucky enough to be on the receiving end of little kisses from my son.  It is not worth the risk of my makeup triggering a reaction in him.  I also, often struggle with dry skin, especially if I have any slip-ups in my own diet. Because of this, my Anti-Aging Facial Oil has become the foundation of my facial care and beauty regimen. On the days I wear make up, I will apply it with the AMAZING Annmarie foundation powder (I use a blend of the Pearl and Olive color and will adjust ratios depending on tan/sun exposure), simply mixing the two to form a foundation.  Otherwise, I apply the Anti-Aging Facial Oil in the evenings after washing my face.

Annmarie, offers a wide variety of beauty products that are fantastic and incredibly clean. This foundation powder simply mixes with an oil of your choice and only contains titanium dioxide, iron oxide, mica, zinc oxide.  Other colors are available.
