The book that so many have been waiting for!! Fat, The book that so many have been waiting for!! Fat, Stressed, and Sick, by Katie Reid of @unblindmymind will be released this September and is now available for Preorder!! 

Fat, Stressed, and Sick makes the case that processed food compromises health not just because of added sugar, salt, and fat, but also because these foods contain significant amounts of glutamate—aka MSG. MSG makes food deliciously addicting. What was not well-known until described here is that most of the MSG in processed food is created during food manufacturing. As the authors show, food processing of protein alone adds 10 grams or more a day of MSG to the average American diet—a statistic that may surprise you.

Katie and I still have hopes and plans to create a sequel to Fat, Stressed, and Sick, which will largely include recipes and implement guidance. 😘

Burger Sauce School is out for summer, and burger Burger Sauce

School is out for summer, and burger season is upon us!  For years, we made burger salads instead of burgers because it is impossible to find low-glutamate burger buns. However, this sauce helps amplify your boring cheese-free burger salad and is also great on regular burgers (gluten-free or not) and even as a dip for your fries. I hope you like this as much as we do!

Ingredients

1/2 c. Mayonnaise 

3 tbsp Ketchup 

1 tsp Brown Mustard 

1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar 

4 tbsp Chopped Dill Pickles 

2  Chopped Garlic Cloves

1/2 tsp Onion Granules

1/4 tsp Sea or Himalayan Salt

Juice from 1/2 a Lemon

Here's the deal, while I don't have all of the ans Here's the deal, while I don't have all of the answers, I have a strong passion for bringing awareness to the glutamate connection and the power of homeopathy to many of our health issues. There are days when I question why am I still doing this. Why am I here? Why am I not focusing all my energy on enjoying where we are today? 

I don't want to dwell on our past. Instead, our past simply changed our lives, and I'm genuinely passionate about it.  I'm not coming here from the authoritative standpoint of ”do this; do that.” RATHER, oh my gosh, not only did this help, it changed our lives, and I want to scream it from the mountaintops! 

As a mom, I just want this community to know that not only do I get it, but there is hope. I get the feelings of isolation, confusion, judgment, and fear.  The WTF feelings of how the heck am I realistically supposed to do this AND life. It's not just about diet; it's so much more, and I get that. Just because there is a lot to navigate, it doesn't mean that there is too much to have hope.

Additionally, it’s not just autism connected to these issues. It’s anxiety, depression, migraines, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, MS, PANS, PANDAS, cancer, restless leg syndrome, addiction, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, sensory processing disorder, seizures, and many more.
